Breastfeeding – healthy and economical
With the economy being as tough as it is right now, I don’t think there’s anyone out there who hasn’t thought about ways to save money. Breastfeeding accomplishes two very important things in difficult financial times. It ensures that your baby is getting the best source of nutrition she can get, and it saves a considerable amount on the cost of formula.
The money parents save on formula expense can go to other important needs, such as food for the older kids or gas for the car. It’s one of those win-win situations.

I was able to stay home with my children because of the money we saved by breastfeeding and cloth diapering.

Also, breastfed babies are less likely to get ill because of the boost it gives their immune system. You save $ by not having extra visits to the doctor. If you’re a working mom, it also keeps you from having to use up sick-days to care for your ill child.

That’s a good point Stephanie. Thanks for bringing it up.
