I’m hosting my first Thanksgiving and I need help!!!!

When I volunteered to host Thanksgiving a few months ago everyone looked at me as if I were crazy. You think you’ll be up to that? I thought yeah, why not? Well, with two days to go I’m beginning to understand why the family was concerned. I’m in my third trimester and getting bigger by the day. The energy I had during my second trimester is starting to dwindle, too. I’m expecting 17 people for dinner and a few more might stop by for dessert. DOH! I’m a little panicked between getting the house ready, grocery shopping and crossing things off my enormous to-do list. Fortunately, my MIL is sleeping over the night before and will help get the turkey in the oven in the morning. It’s going to be a long day though. HELP! Any suggestions for keeping organized, calm and comfortable would be most appreciated.

Delegate – on the day of determine what can be done by others. You’ll have a house full of people, 17 to be exact, right? Which means plenty of hands and feet to get things prepared and on the table. Find someone to set the table, determine who will be in charge of the veggies, potatoes, desserts, etc.

Also, rest often. You’re little feet will be tired and you don’t want to stress your body because you might bring on unwanted contractions.

Most of all – have fun. Enjoy your friends and family. Happy Thanksgiving.

Don’t lose any sleep over it. I am sure your family will be of help. Just ask if you need any thing done. Most people are protective of their pregnant relatives. I’ve been there!

Thanks for the advice! I’ve already decided that I’m wearing my slippers the whole day : )

“Delegate” I completely agree with Kelly. I offered to host our dinner this year and didn’t get to, so maybe I will get to next year. I hope you had a wonderful turn out and everything went according as planned 🙂
